Police: Flashing a gun at passing car led to arrest, multiple charges

A road rage incident involving one driver flashing a gun at a passing car resulted in police charging a Eunice man with firearm, drug and other charges, Lt. Ryan Young said.
Police received a call at about 4 p.m. Wednesday from someone who said the driver of a car flashed a gun at the car he was in as it passed, Young said.
The driver white Mercedes accused of flashing the weapon said the other car had been tailgating him and stuck a finger out at him as they passed, he said.
But a gun trumps a finger and police stopped the Mercedes at the Circle K on West Laurel.
At 4:08 p.m. the police log states drugs and guns were in plain view in the car occupied by a black male with dreds as has been reported by the caller, he said
Police found a AK-47-styled pistol with a conventional magazine and a high-capacity drum magazine, a .40-caliber Glock pistol, also with a high-capacity drum magazine and plastic bags of marijuana, he said.
The driver was accompanied by a female and two children, between the ages of 5 and 8, Young said.
Police arrested James Price, 26, of the 100 block of Fruge Street, Eunice. Price is charged with two counts aggravated assault with a firearm, two counts of illegal use of controlled substance in the presence of persons under 17, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drug 28 grams or more, violation of drug-free zone, possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by felon/ in presence of controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of child restraints or seat belts, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Police Chief Randy Fontenot said 114 grams, about 4 ounces, was seized. The marijuana has a street value of about $1,500, he said.
