Eunice Police arrested a 21-year-old man Tuesday in what they describe as “ambush-style shootout” Saturday on Townhome Drive.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Brandon Ndubueze, 21, Anne Avenue, Eunice, has been charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder and simple criminal damage to property.
Ndubueze is accused of approaching a Townhome Drive residence and opening fire on individuals outside of the residence, Fontenot said.
Ndubueze was injured by return gunfire and fled the scene and concealed himself in a wooded area near the scene, Fontenot said. He was located by officers a couple of hours later and transported to a hospital for treatment to his injuries. Ndubueze was arrested following his release from the hospital.
The incident occurred about 11 p.m. Saturday and was the same house targeted on Sunday, May 3, Fontenot said. In the May 3 shooting Dustin “Goldmouth” Johnson was arrested.
“This house has been the target of shootings going back to last year, the subject of a search warrant resulting in arrests and the scene of various other activities,” Fontenot said.
This shooting, however, was a little different in that there were victims injured in this shootout on Townhome Drive, Fontenot said One victim, Damarquis Robinson, 27, AKA “KK”, of Townhome Drive, was taken by family to the hospital for treatment to his injuries following the shooting.
In the May 3 shooting, Johnson, 33, of East Ardoin Street, Eunice, was charged with five counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
