State Police report a blown tire resulted in the death of a motorcyclist shortly before noon Saturday on Interstate 10 east near La. 91.
In a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release, troopers determined that 52-year-old Larry Walters of Lawton, Oklahoma, was traveling east on Interstate 10 on a 2011 Harley Davidson when, for unknown reasons, the rear tire deflated and Walters lost control.
Walters was ejected off of the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.  Walters was wearing a DOT approved helmet at the time of the crash.
Walters was pronounced dead at the scene by a Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office represenative. Impairment is not suspected but standard toxicology reports are pending. This crash remains under investigation.
