Stolen ATVs, trailer recovered

A Washington man’s arrest netted two stolen ATVs and a trailer, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
Investigators on Aug. 31 received information on an ongoing investigation that involved the theft of several ATVs in the parish.
Key individuals involved were identified and detectives were led to a residence in the 2400 block of La. 103.
Detectives and narcotics investigators began surveillance of the residence and gathered enough information for a search warrant.
Guidroz said Jason C. Leger, 33, of the 200 block of Herbert Ortego Road, Washington, was identified as the suspect, he stated.
Leger was known to carry a firearm, he said.
“Detectives, with the assistance of the St. Landry Parish S.W.A.T team and narcotics investigators, executed the search warrant and found Leger in the residence with a firearm,” he said.
Guidroz said a stolen utility trailer valued at $1,500 and two stolen Honda four-wheelers valued at a total of $5,000 were recovered.
Leger was charged with three counts of possession of stolen things. Bail was set at $4,500.
