2nd arrest made in fentanyl drug death

A second arrest has been made in the overdose death of a 17-year-old Eunice man.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot reported Donna G. Granger, 42, of 100 block of E. Ardoin St., Eunice, was arrested Sept. 30 and charged with second-degree murder.

Lafayette man pleads guilty to kidnapping a gay man as part of scheme against Grindr users

LAFAYETTE — Chance Seneca, 21, of Lafayette, pleaded guilty on Thursday before U.S. District Judge Robert Summerhays, to one count of kidnapping.

A St. Landry Parish school bus was reportedly struck from behind by a tow truck at about 3 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 190 near Rozena Road west of Lawtell. News reports stated St. Landry Parish School Superintendent Patrick Jenkins said at least four students were taken to a hospital and none faced life-threatening injuries. The bus was carrying 27 students. Jenkins told KLFY the children ranged in grades from kindergarten to eighth grade. (Submitted photo)

2 indicted for murder, 3rd person convicted of violent attack

A St. Landry Parish Grand Jury indicted two people in murder cases and a jury trial resulted in a conviction, according to District Attorney Chad Pitre.
The indictments were returned on Sept.26, according to the news release from Pitre.
