Bicylist, vehicle collide on U.S. 190 West on Saturday

A male bicyclist identified as John Sylvan Himel was struck by a vehicle Saturday on U.S. 190 West. Himel was transported to a Lafayette hospital for evaluation and treatment and as of Sunday Himel was discharged.
Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef stated police were called ot the scene at 2 p.m.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm activation at 2 a.m. June 20 located at the Bayou One Stop, 4730 U.S. 167 North, in the Turkey Creek area and found the front door to the business was destroyed and the ATM was removed.

Eunice house damaged in Sunday fire

Eunice Fire Department along with St. Landry Fire District 6 responded to a reported structure fire at 2130 W. Magnolia Ave. on Sunday.
Eunice Fire Chief Chaise Brown stated, “An alert was received on Sunday at 11:44 a.m. from 911 dispatch advising of heavy smoke coming from a residence.
