Church Point man charged with 6 counts in shooting

A 34-year-old Church Point man has been arrested on six counts of attempted second-degree murder in connection with a domestic disturbance. St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said Joseph Berchman Robert Jr.

Suspect sought in Iota burglary

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs the public’s help to solve a crime. Iota Police are investigating a residential burglary which occurred on Aug. 13 in the 200 block of Doucet Street. Two suspects kicked in the back door of the residence.

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has secured arrest warrants for two men believed to be involved in a recent rash of vehicle burglaries in the northeast portion of Acadia Parish, particularly Church Point.
