Tri-Parish LSU graduates announced

LSU awarded 4,514 degrees to graduates at the university’s 310th commencement exercises on May 19 and 20. The spring graduating class represents 58 Louisiana parishes, 49 states and 63 countries. Women comprise 59.11 percent of the class, and men comprise 40.89 percent.

Number of employed citizens sets a new record high

Data released Friday by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that Louisiana’s seasonally adjusted employed data has again set a record. The number of seasonally adjusted employed for April 2023 is 2,036,978, a record high for the series.

$50 billion coastal plan heads toward approval

Louisiana’s most recent plan to restore and protect its coast at a cost of $50 billion advanced Wednesday through the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment.
