Qualifying for the Oct. 12 election began Tuesday and continues until 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
The deadline to register to vote in person or by mail is Sept. 11.
St. Landry Parish candidates qualifying according to the state Secretary of State website as of 4:50 p.m. Friday are as follows.

Three Eunice candidates apparently qualified for their offices without opposition, according to the state Secretary of State’s website on Friday.
Even though qualifying just wrapped up last week and the primary elections will not be held for another three months, 54 percent of the races originally scheduled for the October ballot have already been settled.
