Habitual offender convicted of distributing crack cocaine

An Opelousas man faces up to 20 years in prison after a St. Landry Parish jury convicted him of distributing crack cocaine Tuesday, Sept. 22, according to District Attorney Chad Pitre. Donald Ray Guillory, 60, was convicted following a one-day trial.

Frances Jagneaux Young

Frances Jagneaux Young, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 10 at Cedar Crest Memory Care in Lafayette. Frances was born in Church Point, Louisiana. At age 21, she married Floyd, and the couple moved to Eunice, where they raised their family and shared 72 very happy years together.
