Dr. Leslie Katherine Feucht and Mr. Derrick Rocky Gautreaux were wed during a Nuptial Mass celebrated on Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Eunice. Monsignor Robert Romero officiated the mass assisted by Deacon Chuck Ortego who delivered an inspirational homily.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Feucht. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Nilas Young and the late Mr. and Mrs. Etienne Feucht.
Leslie Katherine is a 2008 graduate of St. Edmund High School and 2012 graduate of LSU Baton Rouge. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2017 from St. George Veterinary College. Leslie is currently a practicing veterinarian at the Eunice Animal Hospital.
Derrick is the son of Mr. Craig Gautreaux and Mrs. Theresa Ducote. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Gautreaux of Vidrine and Verbis and Dean Fontenot of Mamou. He is a 2007 graduate of St. Edmund High School. Derrick is employed by Island Operators and involved in cattle farming locally.
The bride was radiant in her Pronovias Couture gown. The gown was structured with a blush silk underlay covered with an overlay of Spanish lace appliqué embroidered with metallic silk. Her custom cathedral veil flowed above the cathedral train all adorned in Spanish embroidered lace.
She carried a loosely tied bouquet of Quicksand and Garden O’Hara roses with a variety of eucalyptus stems.
To comply with something old, the bride wore her maternal grandmother’s wedding ring that was presented to her grandmother on July 3, seventy-four years ago. The bride’s birthday is also July 3.
Attending the bride in full length, bronze sequin gowns were Dr. Laura Guidry, sister of bride, Candace Aguillard, sister of the groom, Victoria Gautreaux, sister-in-law of the groom, Lisa Feucht, sister-in-law of the bride, Paige Guillory, Molly Brown, Casey Leonards, Dr. Kylie Carlson, Dr. Breann Morse, and Katelyn Borrisov, friends of the bride. Also attending the bride was junior bridesmaid Sara Grace Feucht, niece of the bride, and flower girls Eleanor Feucht, niece of the bride, and Vivienne Gautreaux, niece of the groom.
Serving the groom were his best man Dillon Gautreaux, the groom’s brother, and his groomsmen Kristopher Aguillard, brother-in-law of the groom, Stan Feucht, brother of the bride, Travis Vidrine, Devan Miller, Isaac “Fred” Deshotels, Rusty Meche, Jonathan “Ike” Lafleur, Branson Fontenot, and Alex “A.J.” Landreneau, friends of the groom.
Ushering the guest were Drew Gautreaux, cousin of the groom, Brad Ortego, and Brian Ortego, friends of the groom.
Assisting at the Mass were lectors Caroline Lafleur and Virginia Bertrand, friends of the couple. Gift bearers were Lucinda Feucht, Dorothy Fontenot, godparents of the bride and groom, and Everitt Aguillard, godchild of the groom. Program attendants were Anne Michele Vezinat, Brenna Vezinat, and Megan Ardoin, stepsisters of the groom.
Following the ceremony, guests engaged in a celebratory reception at the Point-Aux-Loups Springs Ballroom where they were entertained by the band Rewind.
The couple traveled to Kauai, Hawaii, to enjoy a scenic and relaxing honeymoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Gautreaux will make their home in Eunice.
