Heinen, Theriot exchange vows during Nuptial Mass ceremony

The St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in New Orleans served as the setting for the evening ceremony uniting Lauren Kate Heinen and Tyler Steven Theriot in Holy Matrimony.
The Nuptial Mass ceremony was held on Friday, June 16 with the Rev. Mitch Semar officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Monty and Tiffani Heinen of Eunice and the groom is the son of the Honorable Mitchell and Veronica Theriot of Raceland.
The bride’s grandparents are Brent and Carol Powell of Lafayette and Dr. Brian and Jennifer Heinen of Eunice.
The bride’s great-grandmother is Joyce Brown Rhodes.
The groom’s grandparents are Livingston and the late Barbara Theriot of Golden Meadow, and the late Doris and Medric Gautreaux of Galliano.
Music was provided by James Rosenbloom. Lectors were Andrew Guttierez and Reverend Jeffery Powell, Jr.
Gift bearers during the ceremony were Macy Theriot and Blake Matthew.
The bride, given away by her father, was stunning in a romantic, couture ball gown. The gown featured soft tulle and was richly decorated with beaded embroidery over Chantilly lace, making a dramatic statement. The sweetheart neckline glittered with Swarovski crystals and lovely lace cap sleeves flowed into a key hole design across the backline. Crystal buttons cascaded throughout the semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a dainty crystal crown with a semi cathedral tulle veil. She carried a bouquet of blush and white roses.
Matron of honor was Elizabeth Heinen Person of Baton Rouge, sister of the bride. Maids of honor were Victoria Anne Heinen of Baton Rouge, and Anna Claire Heinen of Eunice, sisters of the bride.
Bridal attendants were Emily Labbe Pitre of New Orleans, sorority sister; Emilee Theriot of Raceland, groom’s sister; Christine Weigel of Shreveport, friend;, Maci Guillory David of Lake Charles, friend; Natalie Derise of Shreveport, sorority sister; and Lara Hutchinson Boudreaux of Shreveport, friend.
Junior bridesmaids included Isabella Grace Heinen, godchild and sister of the bride; Caroline Therese Heinen, sister; Blair Elise Heinen, godchild and cousin of the bride; all of Eunice, and Ashlynn Powell of Marianna, Florida, cousin of the bride.
The bridal party wore a blush chiffon evening gown accented with a soft lace bodice. Their hair was styled in an elegant undo, and they carried a bouquet of pink and white flowers accented with glittering pieces.
Flower girls were Maria Heinen of Eunice, daughter of Dr. Monty and Tiffani Heinen, Sarah Grace Powell of Marianna, Florida, daughter of the Reverend Jeffery and Jane Powell, and Brooklyn and Breelyn Gautreaux, daughters of Jamie and Brendon Gautreaux.
Ringer bearer was Rhett Gautreaux, son of Ivy and Eric Gautreaux.
Ushers during the ceremony were Albert Blount of New Orleans, Wesley Fontenot of Baton Rouge, and Tyler Powell of Florida.
Best man was Stuart Theriot of Baton Rouge, brother of the groom.
The groomsmen included Dane Adams of Lafayette, Paul Mahoney of Baton Rouge, David Mahoney of Baton Rouge, Marcel Delaune of New Orleans, Chase Duet of New Orleans, Timmy Harris of New Orleans, Dustin Knight of Katy, Texas, and Adam Plaisance of Raceland.
The groom wore a charcoal shawl collar tuxedo. The groomsmen wore a charcoal two-piece suit.
A reception was held at Southern Oaks Plantation in New Orleans. The couple entered the reception following a jazz band and throwing gold and pink beads to the guests that were gathered on the lawn while fireworks were bursting in the air.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to the Sandals Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica and will make their home in Shreveport.
The bride is a 2011 graduate of Saint Edmund High School and a 2015 graduate of LSU with a bachelor of science in biology. She is currently in her third year of medical school at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport and will graduate in 2019. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and has served as president of Beaux Bald.
The groom is a 2010 graduate of Central Lafourche High School and a 2015 graduate of LSU with a bachelor of science in kinesiology.
He is currently in his second year of medical school at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport and plans to graduate in 2020. He also attended St. Joseph Seminary College for one year. He is active in the Catholic Medical Student Association, Camp Tiger, and Geaux Bald fundraiser.
