Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA) is accepting nominations from the St. Landry Parish community for the 2018 Leaders in Philanthropy Awards.
Leaders in Philanthropy Awards are presented annually to outstanding individuals or couples from each of the eight parishes of CFA’s primary service area who have made a philanthropic impact in their communities through substantial charitable contributions to or by attracting substantial contributions for nonprofits, churches or schools.
An award recipient will be chosen from St. Landry Parish.
CFA also presents one or more Corporate Awards to a corporation that has made a philanthropic impact through substantial charitable contributions to nonprofits, churches or schools, in at least one of the eight parishes of CFA’s primary service area. Corporate Award winners need not be headquartered in Acadiana.
Applications should be completed online at www.cfacadiana.org/2018LIP and will be accepted until close of business on Feb. 16.
Past honorees from St. Landry Parish are Patricia Mason-Guillory, Sue Soileau Brignac, Alice and Pat Morrow, Dr. Joe Wilson, Ginger and Keith Myers, Marie and Reggie Dupre and Bobby Dupre.
“Our annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon is an appropriate way to recognize those who have contributed so much to our communities through charitable giving or philanthropic work,” said Raymond J. Hébert, CFA president and CEO. “We appreciate the community’s help in identifying worthy recipients through this nominations process.”
Nominees do not need to be fund owners at CFA nor contributors to the Foundation in order to be selected for an award.
CFA’s past board of directors will review and choose the award recipients for all parishes, except for Iberia and St. Mary. CFA has affiliates in those parishes with local boards of directors who will review and choose their parish’s award selections. Once selections are made, a final list will be submitted to CFA’s board of directors for final approval. Recipients will be selected in February and will be presented with awards at the eight-annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon in November.
