An Incident reported in Eunice, no reports of gunshot wounds

According to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot at 8:40 p.m. Sunday there were no reports of any gunshot wounds in a connection to an incident that happened in Eunice.
“It started when people made calls in at the police department complaining that individuals were brandishing guns at the Pack the Park event at the Southeast Park.
However, No reports of any shots were fired from that event.”
A short time later that were shots fired, however, at a Raceway gas station. “A man who was sitting on his motorcycle at a red light near Raceway was struck by a car fleeing the shooting, but he wasn’t seriously injured,” said Chief Fontenot. “This may or may not be related or connected to the shooting,” said Fontenot.
Police are tracing leads including reports that some of the shooters were from Bunkie and some were from New Iberia.
Chief Fontenot did confirm that one male was shot in his foot. He was taken to a Lafayette hospital where he was reported and released with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident is still under invertigation.
