Parish has sandbags

Due to the heavy rainfall on Wednesday night into Thursday morning and expected rainfall occurring on Sunday, the St. Landry Parish Government Yambilee Building sandbag site located at 1939 W. Landry St. in Opelousas will be open for those residents needing sandbags, according to Maj. Eddie Thibodeaux, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s public information officer.
People wanting and should bring their own shovel. Sand and bags will be available.
The location will be open today and until 8 p.m. Saturday.
