Bobcats run past Raiders

PRAIRIE RONDE – What a way to start the season for the reigning Class 3-A state champions.

“We always preach the game lasts four quarters,” EHS head coach Paul Trosclair said after a game filled with injury timeouts because of cramps from the heat.

Eagles down Blue Jays, 9-0

Even with the 9-0 shutout loss to Vermilion Catholic in the seventh annual Joe Nagata Memorial jamboree first year St. Edmund head coach James Shiver still saw plenty of positive things to build on heading into the season opener against Vinton.
“That was against the second-ranked team in the state,” Shiver said of the battle against VC. “And we hung right in there with them.
“We didn’t execute like we wanted to but their defense had a lot to do with that.
