Safety tips for cyclists

Below are some safety tips for cyclists, suggested by myself. I also requested Eunice bicycle laws from Police Chief Randy Fontenot. There are many cyclists in Eunice, and there is nothing wrong with that. I enjoy riding a bicycle and I plan to purchase one soon with cooler temperatures on the way.

Bulb Club selects Business Yard of Month

The Bulb and Blossom Garden Club has recognized Pedestal Bank, located at 301 W. Laurel Ave. as the Business Yard for the month of October. The vertical landmark sign for the business is anchored by neatly shaped hawthorn shrubs, caladiums and a variegated liriope border.

Bulb & Blossom holds October meeting

The Bulb and Blossom Garden Club held its October meeting at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. This year’s focus will be “Pollinators – Attracting and Protecting with Native Plants”.

Swine Fest seeks pageant contestants

By Darrel LeJeune LSN Editor The 53rd Louisiana Swine Festival is set for the first weekend of November in Basile, but the festival’s pageants will take place Oct. 12 in McFarlain Memorial Gym on the Basile High School campus.

HIghland Elementary salutes veterans

Highland Elementary has joined with Super-One stores (Brookshire’s Grocery Company) in honoring veterans. Brookshire’s will be flying 29 veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit several monuments and memorials. This trip is free of charge to the veterans.
