Eunice Farmer's Market

The Eunice Farmers’ Market is held in the DMV parking lot, and normally is open from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturdays. On the third Saturday of each month the market is joined by outside vendors and the market remains open until 3 p.m. The market always has fresh produce, honey, and canned goods.

Planning meeting for annual Noel On Prairie

A planning meeting for the 20th annual Noel on the Prairie was held Tuesday with a handful of participating merchants and businesses representatives attending. The annual pre-holiday shopping spree will be held Nov. 9 and Nov. 10.

‘Girls Who Code’ Club at Glendale Elementary

Glendale Elementary started a club designed for third-and fourth-grade girls called, ‘Girls Who Code.’ This club is a nation-wide club that teaches girls the basics of computer science, and was available for third and fourth-grade girls who attend enrichment class.

Birth Notes

Hagen Chaumont Brandon Chaumont and Nicole Alford of Oberlin announce the birth of their son, Hagen James Chaumont, born at Acadian Medical Center on Sept. 16 weighing 7 pounds and 6.6 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Alvin Martinez of Zwolle and Tina Alford of Florien.

Fall Fest this weekend

Always a good time. The annual St. Thomas More Fall Festival is scheduled for this weekend, beginning Friday. It’s an event designed for the entire family. The fun begins tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. and concludes on Sunday at 5 p.m. A family can bring their children to ride plenty of fair rides.

Cooking Club at Highland makes applesauce

Highland Elementary recently held it’s monthly club day. Students in the Cooking Club learned how to make Crockpot applesauce. They were taught by Ashley St. Cyr how to peel the apples, core, and cube them before putting the apples and all of the needed ingredients in the crock pot.
