Eunice Farmers Market held weekly The Eunice Farmers’ Market is held on South 2nd Street between the library and Café Mosaic. We are open from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Wednesdays and Saturdays, weather permitting. We always have fresh produce, honey, baked goods, and jars of pickles and such.

St. Landry Parish Man Convicted of Sex Crimes Against Child Under 13

OPELOUSAS — A St. Landry Parish jury has convicted Lance Scott Richard, 41, of Sunset, of four counts of Sexual Battery of a Child under the age of 13. The jury returned the unanimous guilty verdicts late last Friday, May 23, 2026.

Iota man with felony record arrested after shots fired call

IOTA - A recently relocated habitual offender was arrested this week after Iota police say he fired a .22 caliber revolver in a local trailer park, despite claiming he only shot a pellet gun. At approximately 9:20 p.m., Ofc. Bryan Foti was dispatched to a trailer park on a “shots fired” call.
