Rayne Police investigate Thursday shooting

Officers of the Rayne Police Department investigate a shooting at the 400 block of Ann Drive near the intersection of East A School Street. Eyewitness reports claim two individuals exchange gunfire before the noon hour of Thursday, Nov. 8. Here, officers follow the trail of gun casings found throughout the area. Mader entertains Lions

Tim Mader and his granddaughters entertained members of the Crowley Lions Club with a number of musical selections during a recent meeting. Mader explained that he and “the girls” regularly get together and enjoy music and decided to “take this show on the road” to the Lions Club meeting at Rice Palace. “The band” includes, from left, Blair Bayard, Tim “Poppie” Mader, and Meredith and Madeline Bayard.

Toys for Tots drive currently underway
The annual Toys for Tots drive in Eunice is underway.
The Eunice Fire Department, at the central station located at 100 Park Avenue, will accept application now until Nov. 30 each day from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Those families that receive government assistance are eligible to apply. You are asked to bring a picture ID, along with a proof of assistance to the central station.

Veterans Day program is Monday
Veterans Day in Eunice will be observed at 11 a.m. Monday at the VFW Post 8971 Hall, U.S. 190 East.
All veterans are welcomed and the public is invited to attend.
The Eunice High Bobcat band will perform. An official flag burning will be done.
Guest speakers on the program will include Rep. Phillip DeVillier and Pat Mason-Guillory.
A gumbo will be served.
