Parish sales tax collections up 11.4%

Total sales tax collections in St. Landry Parish were up 11.4% through October compared to same period in 2020. Collections totaled $72,118,139 in October, up $7,352,124 over the collections in 2020, according to the monthly report released by St. Landry Parish School Board sales tax division.

St. Landry school chief wins 1-year contract extension

After a nearly 90 minute closed-door session, St Landry Parish school Superintendent Patrick Jenkins was voted a 12-month contract extension. The vote at Thursday’s School Board meeting occurred in front of a crowd that seemed against the contract.
