EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Martin J. Babineaux announces his passing on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at the age of 73. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata.

Sheriff: Man charged with attempted murder in road rage incident

A Lafayette man is charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder in what Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson called a road rage incident. Gibson said the incident occurred on Interstate 10 near Duson at about 11:30 a.m. March 19.

Every Louisiana casino reports year-over-year revenue decline

Every operating river-adjacent Louisiana casino took in less money last month than the month before and during the same month last year, according to the newest report to the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. The state’s river-adjacent casinos collectively were down 27.

AgCenter, Czech university hold virtual food symposium

The LSU AgCenter recently partnered with Mendel University in the Czech Republic to host a weeklong virtual symposium where experts from both institutions discussed topics including food waste, safety, production, technology and nutrition.
