St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office reports arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. March 9 Marcus Paul LeJeune, 19, 500 block of N. 2nd Street, Eunice. Bench warrant. Arrested by Eunice Police. Chase Emil Deville, 31, 500 block of Highway 190, Eunice.

Eunice Police identify shooting suspect

Eunice Police are attempting to locate Jasten Thomas, of the 200 block of North7th Street, Eunice, in connection with a shooting that occurred about 6:45 pm. Sunday in the 300 block of North 7th Street. In a news release, Police Chief Randy Fontenot identified Thomas a 19-year-old black male.

Roger Lee (Yogi) Hollier

EUNICE–It is with heavy hearts that the family of Roger Lee “Yogi” Hollier announces his passing on Sunday, March 7, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He was 88. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice.

Leza "LD" Delano Savoy

Leza “LD” Delano Savoy, Jr. passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the age of 70. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Hampton Davis celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Thomas More Cemetery.

LSU suspends two athletic officials for mishandling of sexual assault

Two LSU Athletics employees were suspended without pay after a law firm’s report into LSU’s alleged mishandling of sexual assault complaints was released Friday. Scott Schneider, a representative from the law firm, Husch Blackwell, presented the investigation to the LSU Board of Supervisors.

Eunice Police investigating Sunday shooting

A man was wounded three times in a shooting at 7th and reed Sunday afternoon. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said a vehicle on North 7th Street stopped and one person got out. Several people were present and shooting started wounding the person.
