Michael James LaFleur passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the age of 68. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.

$4.6M parish debt ordinance introduced

The $4.6 million loan sought by St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard was introduced at a special meeting Tuesday without discussion. Parish Council member Faltrey Jolivette became the sponsor for the ordinance expected to be on the Council’s regular Sept. 17 meeting agenda.
