MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Thursday, January 14, 2021 for Christine Reed Duplechin, 67, who passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in New Orleans.

James Berkman Veillon

James Berkman Veillon passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the age of 86. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Grand Prairie with Father Daniel Picard celebrant. Interment of ashes will follow in the Old Grand Prairie Cemetery.

Ann Vivian Longman

Ann Vivian Longman of Eunice, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who considered L.S.U. football players and the Houston Astros as adopted members of the family, died Monday of natural causes. She was 86.  A rabid sports fan, Ann’s own athletic skills were not celebrated.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office reports arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. January 12 Javonte Jason Lejeune, 21, 1300 block of 11th Street, Lake Charles. Criminal damage to property, bench warrant (3 counts). Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Eunice Police Arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. January 11 Mathew Sleigh Kibodeaux, 32, 600 block of Bernice, Eunice. Simple assault. Javonte LeJeune, 21, 1300 block of Eleventh Street, Lake Charles. Hit and run driving, no driver’s license. Juvenile, 16, Eunice. Aggravated second degree battery.

Audrey Ann Fontenot Manuel

Audrey Ann Fontenot Manuel passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the age of 67. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with David Guillory officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.
