The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. August 17-18 Marvin Neal Porter, 19, 1200 block of Daly Street, Opelousas. Illegal carrying of a firearm, carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon in a firearm free zone. Arrested by Opelousas Police.

Eunice Police Arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. August 17 Dondrey L. Denton, 40, 200 block of Natalie, Eunice. Bench warrant. Lisa R. Garnett, 51, 900 block of Hickory, Mamou. Probation violation, hold.

Carl Anthony Fontenot

Carl Anthony Fontenot passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the age of 67. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Clinton Sensat officiating. Burial will follow in St. Thomas More Cemetery.

Anthony Larry LaFosse

Anthony “Larry” LaFosse passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the age of 69. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at noon at St Augustine Catholic Church in Basile with Father Keenon officiating. Burial will follow in St Augustine Cemetery.

Carol Dupre Crooks

A loving mother left us to be with her husband, children and parents on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Carol Dupre Crooks died peacefully at Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs at the age of 84. She was a native of Eunice.
