Tips sought in golf cart thefts

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the felony theft of three golf carts from Cajun Pines Golf Club, located on Golf Course Road in the Branch community on the night of July 26. Unknown suspects gained entry into the storage building and stole three golf carts.

Acadia police jurors OK golf carts in subdivisions

It will soon be legal to drive golf carts on parish-maintained roads, but only if those roads are in a “recognized subdivision.” By a 4-3 vote Tuesday night, with one member absent, the Acadia Parish Police Jury adopted a revised version of the ordinance recommended by the Legislative Committee.

Wreck kills Maurice man

At about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I were notified of a single-vehicle crash on La. 10 near La. 182 in St. Landry Parish. The crash took the life of 45-year-old Daniel Scott Palmer of Maurice.
