Area alternative education program approved by BESE

he Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) has approved the annual operation of 125 alternative education programs and 34 schools, 10 of which were vetted through the state’s new, more robust authorization process.

Ville Platte city utility rates soar

Eunice shooting is on Crimestoppers

St. Landry Parish Crimestoppers is asking for information about a shooting that occurred in Eunice. A 26-year-old Eunice man was shot in the chest in a robbery at about 2 a.m. on June 13 in the 200 block of Jelk, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.

Eunice Police seek man in early Friday morning shooting

A 41-year-old Eunice man is wanted for question by Eunice Police in an early morning shooting, according to Police Chief Chief Randy Fontenot. Wanted is Billy Thomas, who should be considered armed and dangerous, Fontenot said.
