Hank Williams Sr. tribute is Jan. 12 The Tribute to Hank Williams Sr. is scheduled at 6 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Liberty Center for the Performing Arts. The emcee will be Barry Ancelet. Special guests will be Hugh Harris, Jo-El Sonnier, Yvette Landry, Benjamin Bruce, Luke Huval and Terry Huval.

LifeShare hold blood drive in Eunice Wednesday

LifeShare Blood Center will hold a blood drive on Dec. 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Walmart in Eunice and on Dec. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Walmart in Ville Platte. Mark Lioret, with LifeShare Blood Center, stressed the importance of donating blood during this time of the year.

New park superintendent on the job at Jean Lafitte, New Orleans Jazz

South Louisiana’s New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park and Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve welcomed new park superintendent, Charles E. “Chuck” Hunt in late November.

The details are far from complete, but Eunice is on the verge of a party to celebrate its 125th year. Mayor Scott Fontenot said he hopes to have a committee put together in January to start planning the celebration.
