The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for throwing a newborn baby in a trash can in Fifth Ward on Saturday, September 8. APSO said they responded to a call at Shawn’s Store in Fifth Ward on Highway 1 on Saturday.

Police make drug bust at a local motel

A Morgan City man faces five drug-related charges after city police responded to a complaint about drug activity at a local motel, Police Chief James F. Blair said. Patrick G. Gaudet, 57, of Bush Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4 a.m. Thursday.

Improvements being made in Abbeville’s Magdalen Square
