EUNICE~It is with the heaviest hearts that the family of Shannah Dane' Fontenot announces her passing on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the age 35. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice.

EUNICE-Funeral service for Edwin Cormier, Sr., 76, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church of Duralde. Rev. Gene Tremie will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery of Eunice.

Piron selected grand marshal for Rice Fest Children’s Parade

CROWLEY — Ruthie Welch Piron has been selected as grand marshal for the 82nd International Rice Festival Children’s Parade, which will take place in downtown Crowley on Oct. 19. A lifelong resident of Crowley, Piron is the daughter of the late Martin and Billie Welch.
