2 new fire trucks are on their way to city

Two new fire trucks are on their way to Eunice after the Board of Alderman approved paying for them at a special meeting Wednesday. The city will pay about $677,000 for the trucks and financed them for 10 years with annual payments of $79,588 for a total of $795,882.

Road closure extended on La. 98 until April 30

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that work on La. 98 (Roberts Cove Road), between La. 1111 and La. 367, and alternating lane closures in the eastbound and westbound direction will be extended through April 30. The work is estimated to take place from 7 a.m.

St. Landry Crime Stoppers seeks tips to home burglaries

St. Landry Crime Stoppers is asking for leads to solve a rash of home burglaries. On March 12, deputies responded to seven home burglaries in the south end of the parish. The suspects either kicked in the doors or broke windows to gain entry.

Grave situation investigated at rural Eunice cemetery

The 33rd annual Eunice World Championship Louisiana Crawfish Etoufeé Cook-off is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Northwest Pavilion on Samuel Drive. Winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m. and in between that time is crawfish étouffee´ that will rock the palate.
