November 10, 1929 -November 30, 2017 Cornelia Elizabeth Pousson Watson died on Nov. 30, 2017, in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was surrounded in love by her family and friends. Her body was taken, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all of those who loved this beautiful woman.

Funeral services will be held for Jules Prejean, 85, on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home - Crowley Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Broussard and Bishop Francis Fontenot officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, Jan. 12, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Howard Ray Clayborne was born on Feb. 18, 1970, in Lafayette to the late Howard Guillory and Barbara Jean Beverly. He was called to his eternal resting place on Jan. 4, 2018. At an early age, Howard was baptized at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Crowley. He was a 1990 graduate of Crowley High School.

Lafayette woman pleads guilty to stealing nearly $1.5M from Broussard business

United States Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook announced that a Lafayette woman pleaded guilty Thursday to stealing almost $1.5 million from a Broussard oilfield related company. Susan M. Benoit, 54, of Lafayette, pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Patrick Hanna to two counts of wire fraud.

Eunice man arrested on child pornography charges

Attorney General Jeff Landry’s Cyber Crime Unit has arrested two men on nearly 70 counts of child pornography. “Protecting children from child predators has always been, and will continue to be, a priority of my office,” Landry said.
