Decision time for school building plan

St. Landry Parish School Board members were told they need to decide on a final building plan for a March election. Lyn Kenley, construction consultant with Volker Inc., updated the Board at Buildings, Lands and Sites Committee meeting on Monday.

Tips leads to cockfighting arrest

An anonymous tip resulted in the arrest of an Opelousas man o 20 counts of cockfighting on Wednesday. St. Landry Parish Animal Control received an anonymous tip about an event in the 100 block of Leroy Brooks Road in the Opelousas area, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz in a news release.
