EUNICE–It is with great sadness that the family of Phillip James Fontenot announces his passing on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. He was 63. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the New St.

Norman Cormier

Norman Cormier passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the age of 64. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Pastor Greg Fontenot officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.

Eddie Paul Miller Sr.

Eddie Paul Miller, Sr. passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the age of 39. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 4 p.m.

Eunice High School celebrates homecoming week

Eunice High School students are celebrating homecoming this week with out-of-uniforms dress days. On Monday, seniors dressed in togas and underclassmen dressed in different colors. Tuesday is declared Boomers and Babies.

Relief supplies accepted at Fire Dept. The Eunice Fire Department’s main fire station, located at 100 Park, will accept donations of hygiene products, cleaning supplies, non-perishable food items, and water for delivery to Hurricane Ida victims. Donations can be made from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for David N. LeJeune, 70, who died Friday, Sept. 17, 2021 at 9:27 a.m. in Iota. Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services.
