Irby Joseph Olivier passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the age of 86. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Pastor Chris Frye and Pastor Woody Gunnels officiating. Burial will follow in Ashford Cemetery in Basile.

Farmers’ Market open Saturday, Wednesday The Eunice Farmers’ Market is open from 9 a.m. ot noon on Wednesdays and Saturdays, weather permitting. The market is located at 2101 W. Ash near the Community Garden, behind the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Methodist pastor to serve Eunice, Opelousas churches

First United Methodist Church in Eunice welcomed its new pastor, the Rev. Katie Glass, who performed her first service there on July 4. Glass, 27, is from Pineville. Her first post was serving as an associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Alexandria.
