Governor easing COVID restrictions

BATON ROUGE — Following almost six weeks of improvements in Louisiana’s COVID case counts and a sustained decrease in COVID-related hospitalizations, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced that Louisiana will move forward to Phase 3.

Early voting begins Saturday

Juvenile shooting suspect surrenders

A 17-year-old suspect to a shooting that occurred outside Golden Seafood on Feb. 23 surrendered to Eunice Police on Monday, Police chief Randy Fontenot said. The teen was booked on charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, Fontenot reported.
