Reed placed in forefront of parish virus response

Van Reed’s first day on the job as the director of Emergency Preparedness and public information officer for the St. Landry Parish Government was March 9. The very next week, Reed was thrust into the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis as it crept closer to the parish.

Eunice mayor declares state of emergency for the city

Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot announced he has declared a State of Emergency for the City of Eunice. In an email this afternoon, Fontenot stated, “This declaration has been made to follow in line with the federal and state declarations of emergency.

Louisiana Department of Health updates coronavirus cases

The Louisiana Department of Health has updated its website to reflect the latest number of positives and will continue to update its website at noon each day. As of noon on March 26, the Department reported 510 additional cases since yesterday, bringing the total to 2,305 positive cases.
