EPPJ votes to seek $270,000 to make rail spur at Industrial Park

In an effort to make the rail spur at the parish’s Industrial Park more suitable for potential lessees such as Cabot Corporation, the Evangeline Parish Police Jury voted Wednesday during a special meeting to seek $270 thousand dollars from the State Bonding Commission.

Armed burglars sought

Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred just after midnight on June 21 in the 6100 block of Standard Mill Road. The homeowner was awakened by two armed black males, wearing ski masks and gloves.

VP City Council approves amended and proposed budgets

The 2018 amended budget as well as the 2019 proposed budget for the City of Ville Platte were approved during a special meeting of the city council Thursday. The amended budget that was presented by certified public accountant Dana Quebedeaux showed total revenues in the amount of $11,170,273.
