St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Jan. 30 Roger Thomas, II, 18, 500 block of West Dupre Street, Washington. Home invasion; second-degree battery; flight from an officer; aggravated criminal battery. Arrested by Port Barre Police.

Bernadine Miller

Bernadine Miller passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018, at the age of 85. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 10:00 AM. at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Deacon David Guillory will officiate.

Driver sought in train-car collision

The driver of a car struck by a train on North 12th Street at about 10:30 a.m. Monday was still missing as of Wednesday morning. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot is between the Union Pacific train and the vehicle, which was struck in the rear.

Virginia Vick

Virginia Vick Pendergast passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the age of 98. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 11:00 AM. at First United Methodist Church in Eunice. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Rev Kemper Smith and Christy Brammer will officiate.
