Learning to look and act your age

On my birthday this year, I’ll turn 55 years old. I’m not sure that’s an impressive milestone, but I do believe it’s the average shelf life of the bottle of Worcestershire sauce in the back of most American refrigerators.

St. Landry Parish sales tax collections dip in March

St. Landry Parish sales tax collections dipped in March Sales tax collections in St. Landry Parish through March dropped 1.3% compared to the same period in 2024. Collections totaled $24,572,915 through March, down $325,234 from the total through March 2024.

City retains Class 3 fire rating

The City of Eunice retained its Class 3 fire protection rating, according to a report by Fire Chief Chaise Brown. Mayor Scott Fontenot said, “We’ve got some really exciting news if you are a property owner in the City of Eunice” in introducing Brown.

Don’t procrastinate about planning for your future. John Pucheu said to create a plan that works for you, “It’s going to take time, expertise, and persistence. Take action now.” Pucheu was the guest speaker at the Eunice Rotary Club meeting on April 2.

Upgrade planned for City Lake facilities

The City Lake facilities will be given a $98,000 rehabilitation, Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot announced at Tuesday’s city council meeting. The project is to include a concession stand renting fishing equipment, selling bait and renting kayaks.
