Veterans Day was observed at VFW Post 8971 Monday with an outdoors ceremony. VFW Post 8971 Commander Donnie Fontenot was the emcee. Fontenot thanked all veterans for their service. David Crader, American Legion Post 129 commander, was recognized for his service in the military.

Bourque said he’s keeping the property on Gumpoint Highway and will be moving a double-wide mobile home onto it.
