Rayne High School teacher earns state’s top teacher honor

The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) celebrated some of the state’s most outstanding teachers and leaders at the 18th Annual Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Awards Gala.

Downtown Eunice car, truck show is Saturday

As many as 200 vehicles from 1985 and earlier may be on display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on South 2nd Street and Park Avenue.

Tri-Parish jobless rates are up, workforce rises by 326

Unemployment rates were up in the Tri-Parish area in June, but the workforce grew by 326 or 0.5% compared to June 2023. The Tri-Parish workforce in June totaled 69,281, up from 68,955 in June 2023, according to data released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission on July 26.
