Fatal RV fire raises electrical concerns

State Fire Marshal Chief Bryan J. Adams is raising awareness about electrical fire hazards following a fatal fire in Eunice. Around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, Acadia Fire District 4 responded to a call for an recreational vehicle fire located in the 1600 block of Atterbury Drive in Eunice.

Botanist details nature’s edible bounty

Did you know that a Yaupon Holly has caffeine in it? According to Rick Pavlu, a botanist, a great source of Vitamin C can come from Loblolly Pine pine needles. The Loblolly Pine’s botanical name is, “Pinus taeda.” Pavlu was the guest speaker Wednesday at the Eunice Rotary Club meeting.

Rain on Thursday did not stop the observance of the National Day of Prayer. The program, normally held outdoors at the City Hall, was moved inside to the lobby for a noon ceremony.
