EUNICE – It is with great sadness that the family of Ellen Long announces her passing on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Eunice Manor Nursing Home in Eunice. She was 82. A Chapel Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice.

Acadian Village rehab project nears completion

A 30-unit renovation for flood-damaged apartments is nearing completion about two months ahead of schedule, according to Angelia Guillory, Eunice Housing Authority director. The apartments were damaged by flooding in August 2016 and have not been occupied since.
LSU Eunice announces a record enrollment for the Fall 2023 semester, as LSUE holds a headcount of 3,623 for its official census. It is just the second time in the school’s history that enrollment has gone over 3,600 students.

Louisiana drops 107,000 people from Medicaid during disenrollment process

By Julie O’Donoghue-Louisiana Illuminator Louisiana pulled Medicaid coverage from almost 107,000 residents over the first two months of the program’s massive disenrollment process, but state health officials have previously said many of those people may only be cut temporarily.

UL Lafayette honors excellence with Eminent Faculty Awards

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has recognized five exemplary educators as its 2023 Eminent Faculty class. The UL Lafayette Foundation sponsors the annual awards. They are the highest recognition the University confers on faculty.
