School tax of 9.9 mills proposed by panel

The St. Landry Parish School Board is prepared to move a proposed parishwide 9.9-mill property tax resolution forward for consideration at a December meeting, following a Finance Committee decision on Tuesday night.

Clerk warns about deed scam

St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court Charles Jagneaux is warning the public about Recorded Deed Notice Scam being sent out to the public. The scam begins with a letter urging property owners obtain a copy of their Property Assessment Profile.
