Jon Michael Courville

Jon Michael Courville, passed away on January 11, 2026, at Acadian Medical Center. Born on May 25, 1985, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Michael lived a life marked by dedication and passion, both in his career and personal endeavors. A Mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 1 p.m.

Russell James Marks

Russell James Marks passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the age of 70. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cory Elkins officiating.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Saturday, Jan. 10-Monday, Jan. 12. Jody Holcomb, 54, 1500 block of W. Maple Avenue, Eunice. Aggravated assault with a firearm.

Dudley Dupre III

Dudley Dupre III, age 45, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
