Preston “Willie” Richard, 87, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025. Born in Jennings, Louisiana, on April 18, 1938, Willie lived most of his life in Eunice, Louisiana.

Parish burn ban lifted

ST. LANDRY PARISH - St. Landry Parish Government has officially lifted the parishwide burn ban, effective immediately. The decision comes following recent rainfall and improved weather conditions that have significantly reduced the risk of wildfires across the parish.

There will be a Suicide Awareness event “Walk to Fight Suicide” in downtown Eunice on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Eunice Out of the Darkness Community Walk will begin with registration at 9 a.m. at the city hall parking lot and the walk to begin at 10 a.m.
