Acadia Parish Sheriff’s annual report notes increase in narcotics arrests

Residents of Acadia Parish have received – or will soon receive – the 2021 “Year in Review.” “I am once again honored to provide to you the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office Annual Report,” Sheriff K.P. Gibson said in a statement included in the brochure.

Josi Lemelle, a sophomore at Eunice High School, was chosen to introduce Vice President Kamala Harris in Sunset on Monday. Announcing federal funding to bring fiber optic cable into St. Landry, Acadia and Evangeline parishes was the highlight of the vice president’s visit.

Man dies in Arnaudville mobile home fire

State Fire Marshal (SFM) deputies continue their investigation into a mobile home fire that claimed the life of an Arnaudville man. Just after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Arnaudville firefighters responded to a report of a mobile home fire located in the 1000 block of Lena Drive.
