The St. Landry Parish School Board rejected a proposal to change its employee health insurance at its meeting Thursday.
The Board voted 12-1 against the change from a state plan to a self-funding plan that Superintendent Patrick Jenkins claimed would save the district $1 million a year.
The occurred in a meeting room full of vocal opponents of the change.
