Sixth Annual Parade of Paws

The sixth annual Parade of Paws parade was held Saturday at 3 p.m. on downtown South 2nd.
Organizer and event planner Jerica Guillory held registration in front of Beaucoup on S. 2nd for the event before the parade began. There were 37 entries.
All canines were dressed in Mardi Gras attire and costumes. Three judges were on hand before the parade began to judge for winners. There were first, second and third placements awarded at the conclusion of the short route parade. There were ribbons also awarded for the Best Creative, Cajun Classic, and the Most Unpredictable.

11th annual Taster's Choice event

The 11th annual Eunice Community Health Center’s biggest fundraiser, the Taster’s Choice, was held Wednesday evening inside the Mumphrey Center at LSUE.
Most likely the biggest crowd since its first one attended. People tasted, sampled different foods and desserts in different categories, from general entree, seafood, wild game and desserts. People were able to vote on their favorite food from designated categories, and winners were announced later in the evening. The cooking event was held from 6 to 9 p.m.
